I love some of these comments.

"Its not the Brazil of old..."

What? The Brazil of 1970?

Well, fuck me, no other Brazil squad ever has been as good as that so what's the point being made?

I saw their squad yesterday and I was taken aback at how good it is. So much strength in depth, especially offensively. When you look at the likes of Jesus and Richarlison they will barely get a look in. And they have very good defenders. They have to be favourites based on that squad alone.

I dont think Bowen will go and as said that might be for the best.
Would be number 26 of the 26 man squad and spend his time sitting on benches and in Qatar hotel rooms.
Better off here having a couple of weeks off to freshen up and then work on his fitness

Re: West Ham players at the World cup
I guess if you have him, Guimaraes of Newcastle & Casemiro sitting in midfield and some combination of Neymar, Vinicius Jr, Jesus, Raphinha, Richarlison & Martinellli ahead of them you'd fancy your chances at the World Cup.
Allison or Ederson in goal of course

Havent seen Brazil play since the last WC but the list of names looks impressive

Hoping Bowen doesn't go to be honest, I think he's carrying an injury and could do with a month off.
Be great for him to get selected but let's be fair, he won't play much as he's not flavour of the month and will be there just as a squad number.
Better for us to have him at work resting up.

I don’t think it’s a case of Paqueta being too bright. It’s more of a Porsche being used like a Hilux.

The fact is Paqueta is too intelligent for the rest of the team.
Reminds me of when we signed Van Der Elst all those years ago

Rice, Aguerd, Kehrer, Areola & Paqueta.

Maybes Bowen & Zouma.

Paqueta is Brazil’s main player.

Everything goes through him.

Re: West Ham players at the World cup
How does he get picked for Brazil
Simply because they have a manager who likes to attack, let's the team drive forward rather than sit back pass side by fucking side.
Paqueta is wasted in our midfield, he is used to feeding the likes of Neymar rather than hoping that Scammaca or Antonio can get onto the end of something.

Re: West Ham players at the World cup
Brazil squad is unbelievable. Some these comments show how little people on this site know about football. Listed as having 9 attackers. People debating whether England should take 4 or 5. A few on here must like that given some of the line ups on matchday threads.

Nagel

Whatever you think of Neymar, the person, he still has more combined goals and assists than Messi or Mbappe in all competitions so far this season.

More goals than Messi (2 less assists) more assists than Mbappe (3 less goals).

Re: West Ham players at the World cup
It might not be the Brazil of old, but their squad is way better than every other nation currently. They might not have a Messi or a Mbappe but they've got quality all over the pitch.

I saw a marketing video in town today with Rice and Bowen playing a video game. I bet they’re crestfallen tbh.

Would Paqueta play for us over a prime Kevin Nolan?

Very few teams are equal to some - some - of the Brazil teams of old but this team are favourites to win the tournament and have some of the best players in the world at most every postion.

To be fair Matt if you look at the squad it's not the Brazil of old!
